Holistic Health Coaching: Why it's an excellent choice for YOU

Here’s what it feels like to work with me as your Health Coach and what exactly we could do together

Aside from making lasting adjustments to your overall well-being through mindful habit shifts, it is significant for us to discover what works well in your lifestyle and diet and commemorate these aspects. Which brings me to introduce one of the most important aspects of my Holistic Health Coach practice — celebrating simple successes during a time of transition.

What makes working with me unique from a nutritionist, dietician, physician, or therapist?

  • Knowledge of multiple dietary theories, from raw vegan to paleo, and figuring out what works for you. No, I’m not going to tell you to only eat a plant-based diet!

  • We can discover underlying issues to symptoms you may be feeling through open, safe and confidential dialogue, questions, and active listening.

  • The blend of personalized nutrition + personalized self-care + personalized conversation — all focused around you!

  • Accountability. By continuing to check in on the progress of your goals and adding gentle reminders towards progress.

So why would you want to work with me?

  • You’re a woman in your 30s-50s and have had a history of birth control affecting your hormones, want to lose a little bit of weight, are going through transitions, or just want to figure out healthy patterns.

  • You were just recommended a new diet by your doctor and can’t figure out what to eat or how to stop eating the way you have habitually for years.

  • Pandemic life. You want to pick up healthy habits after being quarantined and eating too many packaged foods.

  • You simply want to add a Health Coach to your Health Care Provider team!

An all-encompassing approach

Throughout my education to become a Health Coach, I was guided toward the belief that we have two groups of nourishment in our lives — Primary Food and Secondary Food. Secondary Food includes what is on our plate — what we eat. And, Primary Food is an all-encompassing concept involving the areas in our life that create balance or imbalance, including our work and home life, our relationships, our spiritual beliefs, our level of movement or exercise, and more. The phrase “Mind, Body, Soul” absolutely rings true to your overall health and wellness.

After our initial free consultation getting to know each other, our one-hour sessions are focused on Primary & Secondary Food — conversations guided by you, your goals, your concerns, and ways to produce sustainable growth. We simply talk over the phone, can have Zoom video conversations, and I’ve even started to have sessions with beach walks! Aside from the knowledge I have gained through my teachings in nutrition, I offer my undivided attention, non-judgmental listening, and extensive note taking.

After our sessions, I will send you a comprehensive email about what we spoke about, ideas we came up with, articles, tools, videos, and tips pertaining to our session and your health. A few of my clients have noted that this has been extremely helpful in their progress and has helped develop their inner voice for healthy reminders.

Six essential habits for well-being

In a class lecture during the last week of my course, we listened to the eloquent and exceptional Dr. Deepak Chopra. He expressed his “Six Essential Habits To Cultivate And Maintain Well-Being,” which is a brilliant way of articulating topics discussed during our Holistic Health Coaching sessions. In no order of importance…

  1. Sleep: How to create a ritual to help you fall asleep, how to stay asleep to experience dreams, and how to wake up feeling rested.

  2. Meditation and Stress Management: The importance of finding the areas in your life which bring you the most stress and using techniques, like meditation or breathing, to manage.

  3. Movement: Discovering which type of movement/exercise works best for you and how to incorporate it into your daily ritual.

  4. Emotions: Observe healthy and unhealthy emotions and dig in to how these play a role in your well-being.

  5. Nutrition/Nourishment: Of course, we will talk about food — what diet works best for you, how to shop at the grocery store, figure out meals that work for your daily flow, how to make salads more filling, how to drink more water, etc.

  6. Biological Rhythms: Dr. Chopra discusses circadian, seasonal, lunar, and tidal rhythms, though I interpret this portion as our greater spiritual self and connecting to the world at large.

Have a look at this article via Dr. Chopra on Why You Need A Health Coach.

I’d like to wrap up by sharing a few of my favorite resources right now…

Self-Care Ideas to get you thinking creatively.
NON GMO Shopping Guide: Essential tips!
All The Healthy Things: A recipe blog where you can choose dietary restrictions and which type of meal you’re cooking to get specific recipes you desire.

I hope you, your friends, and family are in good health and thoughts. I look forward to connecting with you regarding booking a session or discussing a topic of your interest. Please feel free to comment with questions or thoughts!

xo, Gina
